URINARY INCONTINENCE DUE TO HYPOPLASTIC PELVIC KIDNEY WITH ECTOPIC VAGINAL URETER AND DIDELPHYS UTERUS : A CASE REPORT

Abstract


Introduction:

An ectopic vaginal ureter is an infrequent cause of urinary incontinence .Most cases are associated with a duplex kidney in which the lower moiety ureter drains into the bladder

Occasionally , some cases of ectopic kidney with single vaginal ectopic ureter can occur

Report case :

We present a case of 15 year old girl had urinary incontinence since childhood .

Ultrasonography locate the presence of a pelvic left kidney

Magnetic resonance imaging showed that the left ureter extended into the vagina with didelphys uterus

Cystoscopy showed the absence of a left ureteral orifice and an ectopic orifice was identified in the vagina

Vaginoscopy showed a didelphys uterus unicollis

Nephroureterectomy was performed based on the diagnosis of hypoplastic pelvic kidney with an ectopic ureter .

Post operatively ,the patient had no complications

The patient achieved complete incontinence after the operation .

Conclusion:

The surgery and endoscopy can be valuable tools to delineate and manage unusual congenital anomalies .
