Abstract

Introduction :

Strangulation of the penis caused by a coil of hair is un common .It can produce varying grades of injury that may result in a urethral fistula or even gangrene of the glans

Report case :

We report the case of a 10 year old circumcised boy with delayed presentation of penile strangulation with a coil of hair that resulted in a urethro cutaneos fistula .

Our patient was graded by Bashir and EL-Barbary as grade 1 injury

We adopted a technique comprising delayed urethral reconstruction (6 months after removal of constricting hair coil)

The urethroplasty was covred by a protective layer which was derived from the ventral dartos fascia

The patient tolerated the procedure wel ,he passed urine in a single strong stream from the tip of the penis

Follow up at 02 months showed a good single stream from the tip of the penis

Conclusion :

The hair Tourniquet syndrome is an unsual entity

The choice of the procedure depends on the severity of the injury and must be tailored to the requirements of each individual case .
